Rusavia New Scientific Laboratory
The Laboratory for Acoustic Effects Modeling in Aircraft Cabins was organized by Russian Aviation Company in April, 2014.
The Laboratory is headed by Prof. Boris Efimtsev, the Doctor of Technical Sciences.
Complex of Laboratory activity involves the analysis of the aircraft design features focusing on transmission of sound energy into passenger cabins from the fields of the aerodynamic pressure pulsations in the sound frequency band on its outer surface.
The Laboratory will be working out recommendations on noise reduction in passenger and pilot cabins to the levels regulated by international standards.
The most qualified acoustics specialists are invited for solving the problems related to prognosis and noise reduction in modern and next generation passenger aircraft cabins.
Rusavia Aviation Co. Ltd. scientific research activity, conducted since 1996, mainly related with forecasting processes of fatigue damage accumulations, that is one of the major problems occurring at the design stage, as well as in the aircraft operation.
This solution allows to set the reasonable regulations of routine inspection and repair work, carry out the optimal design modifications and reduce the amount of expensive measurements while the development and testing of new equipment. The difficulty in the reproducing processes leading to fatigue failure in experimental conditions leads to use the methods of mathematical and computer modelling, that provide a sufficiently complete information about the object.
Currently, research is being conducted within the framework of the following three main areas: the development of mathematical methods for the assessment of technical structures conditions, the development of factor analysis methods of dynamic characteristics of complex technical systems and the research of opportunities for application of neural networks and discriminatory analysis for solving the problems of diagnostics. The obtained results are used by a number of leading domestic aircraft companies.
The unique flight experiments were conducted
On July 2nd, 2013 Russian Aviation Co. Ltd together with the Moscow City Psychological and Pedagogical University successfully conducted a unique flight experiments studying pilots activity by videooculography methods. These experiments are a part of an extensive research program on creation of new type computer diagnostics based on the analysis of eye movements of the tested person. The scientific part of the work is built on the domestic results in the field of experimental psychology, as well as methods of mathematical modeling developed by our employees.
Under the flight program, the examiners flights with three different levels of pilot skills were performed with light plane F-15 "Sapsan". Currently, the received data are under the mathematical processing. Thus, the research previously conducted by the State Institute of Military Medicine of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, are continued.
